Heal India began with a simple but powerful question: What if healthcare could come to the people who need it most?
In 2010, while working at a public hospital in West Delhi, Dr. Lakshmi Pal noticed that many people—especially daily wage workers—spent entire days waiting for care, often losing a full day’s income. The long lines, paperwork, and limited access made healthcare feel out of reach for many.
Dr. Pal shared her idea with other healthcare professionals and NGO leaders. Together, they imagined a model where healthcare camps and mobile clinics could bring essential services directly to underserved neighborhoods and villages.
This idea led to the creation of Heal India Health Camps and the Heal India Mobile Health Center—initiatives designed to deliver care where it’s needed most.
Heal India is a community health initiative focused on three core goals:
Each camp includes diagnostics like ECG and blood sugar testing. Patient records are stored digitally, helping build a national ‘Health Heat Map’ to guide care where it’s needed most.
Heal India has organized over 20 camps in Delhi and is expanding through partnerships with hospitals in other cities. The long-term vision is a nationwide network of self-sustaining mobile health units.
All donations are processed through One Kismet India, a registered non-profit. Contributions are tax-exempt under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act.
